Gov. Stitt’s office and State Auditor, Cindy Byrd, have been working closely with the County Treasurers Association of Oklahoma. It was decided that there will be a 30-day grace period for taxpayers who have paid the first half of their 2019 property taxes and/or personal property taxes and still owe for their second half.
If you haven’t paid any of your 2019 property taxes, they were due in full by January 15, 2020, and late penalties still apply.
AGAIN THIS 30 DAY GRACE PERIOD IS FOR TAXPAYERS THAT HAVE MADE THEIR
FIRST HALF PAYMENT ON 2019 PROPERTY TAXES AND/OR PERSONAL PROPERTY
TAXES WHOSE SECOND HALF WAS DUE MARCH 31----THOSE TAXPAYERS NOW
HAVE UNTIL APRIL 30 TH TO PAY WITHOUT PENALTY.
The statutory authority for a County Treasurer to waive the penalty and interest otherwise due during this effective 30-day extension, is set forth in 68 O.S. Sec.2913 G.
