The following list will show the properties that may be available for the Tax Resale Auction on June 11, 2018.
Notices have been sent to each of these landowners, mortgage holders and any other party that has legal or equitable interest in the property prior to the date of the auction.
This list was updated at 3:50pm on June 8, 2018 and is subject to change as these taxes may be paid prior to the time of the auction on June 11th, 2018 at 9:00 am.
Publication costs have not been added to this preliminary list of properties that may be available on the day of the auction. We will publish the list in the Johnston County Capital Democrat for four consecutive weeks prior to the date of the sale. The publication dates are May 17, 2018, May 24, 2018, May 31, 2018 and June 7, 2018 and can be found in the Johnston County Sentinel.
It is the 2014 delinquent property taxes that qualifies these properties for the tax auction. The properties listed are also subject to additional delinquent taxes for other years that may also be due. (all years due on each tract are shown on the list provided).
This list is a preliminary list of properties that may be available and will give anyone who may be interested in attending the auction time to research these properties before June 11, 2018. It the your responsibility as the purchaser to know what you are buying before the date of the auction.
The County Treasurer's primary function is tax collection. We make every effort to see that Tax Deeds are issued in accordance with the Statutes, but the buyer assumes all responsibility and liability on purchase.
This sale is BUYER BEWARE!!!!!: Each buyer is responsible for knowing what property is bid upon and each property should be inspected by the buyer prior to entering a bid upon it. Monies paid on the date of this auction are non-refundable. Each bidder should research the records and inspect the property that they are considering prior to entering a bid. Some Federal, State and City liens or restrictions may still exist and be valid against the property even after it is sold at the Tax Resale Auction.
