A heartfelt Thank You to my wonderful deputies!
I am SO PROUD of the way they have performed their duties when I could not be present. God blessed me with good employees, and I could not run this office efficiently without them. If you know them or see them outside the office, please thank them for their service. Local government, especially, is a calling, and these ladies work very hard for YOU. Remember, Government works for you--You do not work for us. We understand that.
Thank you, also, for your patience as new ones learn, and experienced ones learn new jobs. Bryan County citizens prove over and over again that they are worthy of our best.
FAST TAX FACT:
Did you know that not paying your taxes on time is the equivalent of financing that amount of money at the rate of 18% per year until the penalty amount equals the total tax due? Not to mention the fees that we are required to charge. This can quickly add up to several times what your base tax is. This is NOT good for your financial health.
AND-----If you think you are "putting one over on the government" you should know that not paying your taxes hurts the schools the most, and keeps money that has been budgeted from being collected. This can result in loss of services at schools, the health department, the ambulance service, and--yes--here at the county, also.
Timely payment helps everything flow as it should, and you can avoid being hit by large debt, etc. Think about it!! I bet you will agree!!
